The East Peak of Mount Tamalpais is one of my favorite places in the bay area to catch a sunset, and I found myself back up there one evening in late August after a day of hiking with a friend. It had been an incredibly hot day inland, so we fled west for some relief. It turned out to be hotter than we expected on the flanks of Tam, so we spent the afternoon getting ice cream in Stinson Beach and exploring the coast. At the Palomarin Trailhead, we ran into a curious fox, whom didn’t seem to mind our photographs. Then it was up the mountain for the sunset, and while the heat meant there was less fog rolling it, we were still treated to an incredible view.
